Electrostatic Discharge Immunity Test - IEC 61000-4-2
IEC 61000-4-2 is a international immunity test that proves ability of electronic equipment towithstand ESD generated from human body or metal objects with a built up static charge.The current waveform generated from ESD-Gun corresponds the wave form generated in acondition where electrified human body is discharged.
Please note that test setup is not strictly carried out accordingthe standards defined by IEC 61000-4-2. ESD discharge impulses were appliedto the following parts of the system:• Digital P9 01 pin• External ADC channel 1• Different parts of DUT enclosure• Shielding of D-Sub 37 connectorDuring ESD stressors, DUT was operational and in a exactly the same setup as it was presentedin High-Side-Test-Bench.
This test does not provide any quantitative results but rather observations. During and afterall ESD stressors performed on it, the DUT was correctly operational. Parts like external ADCchannel-1 and digital P9 01 on which ESD-Tests have been performed are directly involved incontrol of a test object and any malfunction of these parts should directly impact correctness ofa test object operation. No faults could be determined on the unit.
